I was behind this vehicle Tuesday as it went s/b on NY Avenue prior to turning into the Shops at Walt Whitman. This was not a transit bus but rather a party type of limo bus. Shorter than a transit and looked like a truck with a box on the back. Was in the new white/blue colors.

It's one of the seven ARBOC Spirit of Mobility buses that the Town of Huntington recently brought to replace the older Gilligs. http://www.huntingtonny.gov/news/?FeedID=1243

I didn't realse that nothing had been mentioned on here about it or I would have when I heard about it.

20 pax buses replacing 29 pax buses. A downgrade in service? Or was no one riding?

Or could be that they were thinking about the number of handicaped and wheelchair bound riders. Standered transit buses can only fit two wheelchair passengers where as with the newer buses, depending on the configuration, they can fit more. Besides maybe they don't have the ridership per run to warrent that many transit buses.
