Good luck in finding a buyer other than a scrap metal dealer. Other than a trolley museum who would want a trolley museum who'd be interested in it. Add to the price is the cost of removal and transport.

ECA & JimmiB,

I get the feeling that the pictured trolley cars just might be replicas although any good trolley (and Detroit) historian could settle that claim quite quickly.

If they are real it would be a shame to see them destroyed.

Let's hope they find good new homes somewhere.

Regards,

Mr. 'L'

Some information I found on the City of Detroit web site:

On Sept. 20, 1976, the Detroit Dept. of Transportation acquired 4 recently restored trolleys from Lisbon, Portugal for use on Washington Blvd. as a "transit attraction". These would be the small cars. Over the years they acquired 5 more trolleys from various sources.
This service was discontinued in 2003 and all 9 cars were placed in storage.

None of them are replicas. Seven cars came from Lisbon, one from Vevey–Montreux–Chillon Tramway in Switzerland, and one is a double-decker from England.
