Beginning May 29th, Greyhound will celebrate its Centennial with two mobile museum tours, which will visit about 40 U.S. cities over the next several months. The tour features two buses which have been converted into mobile museums, with vintage Greyhound memorabilia and videos. Also featured will be restored classic coaches from the Greyhound historic fleet. There will also be buses from Greyhound's current fleet.

The tour starts May 29 in Foxboro, MA. It will be in the New York area on June 7, stopping at Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. More information on the tour, including a complete list of cities and dates can be found here: http://bloggreyhound.com/news/100th-anniversary-celebration/

Hmmm....June 7th at the stadium at East Rutherford, NJ?
That's the same date as the Museum of Bus Transportation Spring Fling at Hershey....wonder if they will send at least one of the historic fleet over there (hopefully the PD-4501)?

Today, we had a very nice treat at The Port.....No. 6159, the Mobile Museum was parked on Gate 61. It has a nice wrap job all around with a bunch of historic Greyhound images.
Inside, are museum quality displays, including four manakins dress in different historic driver's uniforms, depot signs, clocks, timetables, advertising, brochures, cap badges, safety patches and 'jewelry', service pins, belt buckles, ticket punches, model and toy buses, video's, many historic photo's, etc....Playing over the speakers was the old familiar "Go Greyhound, and Leave The Driving To Us" jingle...
All in all, very nicely done. It will be in East Rutherford, NJ Met Life Stadium lot on Saturday along with some of the historic fleet, which reportedly in now in Atlantic City....

Guess I'll have to do the MoBT 'Spring Fling' at Hershey in the morning, and stop in East Rutherford in the afternoon on the way home....

Too bad they don't come to Canada... Will be in the Orlando area in 24 days (family trip to Disney World), but I'll have zero chance of seeing that mobile museum...

Stopped by the display outside the Met Life stadium today, on the drive home from the Spring Fling at Hershey. They had the Hupmobile, Mack, Silversides, and Scenicruiser, along with the Mobile Museum DL-3, and a new X-3.
The buses looked very nice. I noticed a few minor errors in the Scenicruiser's lettering here and there, but it still looked better than any other coach on the road, today.
The staff on hand to run the display were from an outside marketing company, not GL employee's, and had very limited knowledge of what they were showing.
I must say that there was a very low turnout when I was there (around 2:30 PM). It's no wonder, as I saw no publicity of this event anywhere other than some links to GL's Centennial info on their website. Only a few curious folks that happenned to notice them from the adjacent flea-market in the stadium parking lot.

GL ran their shuttle van for employees at The Port to come out for a view.
