NEW YORK OMNIBUS 2629,

You can thank Carey Transportation for spearheading a movement by the bus industry in New York to take to the parkways to keep pace with greater and tighter airline schedules.

I have to tell you that I was shocked the first time I saw a Carey PD-4104 on the Grand Central back in the sixties - I also saw a great advantage in following close behind them because they had the ability and the agility to move through the heaviest traffic with no problem at all!

In the meantime, here's one NYPD RTS (Highway District #3333) that sends a very special message (enlarged in lower frame).

Regards,

Mr. 'L'

Funny you should mention Miami RTSes, since one of them made it to New York! 1981 RTS #1198 ended up at Jamaica Buses as their 531, and for a time was leased to Triboro Coach - in this photo it's in Jamaica colors with a TCC logo. It did not make the transition to MTA Bus.
