Yes, a terrible thing for sure. My wife's desk was just a few feet from where she worked. An extremely brilliant woman ( book smart apparantly) able to speak 7 languages fluently. A terrilbe loss to many in and out of work
To this day we still don't know the exact circumstances, but she was yapping away on her cell tell when she walked in front of the bus. I'm still trying to understand this. Rockland county uses these horribly ugly little Gilligs, maybe 30 feet or so with large mirrors and lots of window area. Yes the woman was obviously not paying attention what so ever, but it's up to us as drivers to expect the unexpected especially in this case where the bus' route took it directly into a shopping mall. Of course the driver should have been going at a snails pace, minding every single foot he drives.
