AIRBUS A380 Chatter
This is FANTASTIC!
Full screen is like being in the cockpit with the crew! A new dimension in flying.
This is amazing, and interesting to watch. The pilots sit away from everything, no yoke, etc. Captain pulls up a keyboard once in a while to enter info but the plane does most of the work.
The humongous A380 makes its first landing at San Francisco airport. It seems extensively automated. The air traffic controller gives them heading, altitude and speed, and they dial it in. Looks like it lands itself, too.
For best results go "full screen" on your monitor. Also have the sound up so you hear the chatter between approach, tower and aircraft. Now just 'click' and enjoy. ...

Enjoy

EXCELLENT!
A much different perspective than times I have actually landed there.

That video was so great, I felt moved to post it on another transportation forum I post on....just too good to not be more widely seen.
The members of that forum were very receptive and appreciative, so I thought that I would pass on their thanks to you, Mr. 'L'...... |

They do fly the aircraft more like computer operator's than pilot's, inputing commands into the flight director, but if you watch again, when they are on final approach, they switch off the auto pilot, and manually hand-fly the landing, with hands on the thrust-lever's and the side-stick contoller. The aircraft does have the capability for full auto-landing, but is not generally used in normal conditions. |
