Those New York City historians among us might enjoy watching the videos presented on the PBS website:

This specific link goes to a very interesting film about the Brooklyn Navy Yard (more accurately called the New York Naval Shipyard), but if you check out the right margin, you'll see links to quite a few interesting topics.

Great piece of film but it reminded me of the TV series 'Life After People'!
It is true to life though; when I'm in the city I often pass by the yards with my daughter on the way to shop at the Fareway Market in Redhook.
