According to Brian Grams & Andrew Gold's book, GM Intercity Coaches 1944-1980 Photo Archive the difference between both models was engineering changes at the request of Greyhound.
Structurally they were the same including the rear windshield, correct?

I believe this is correct. Only 116 PD4102's were built. I've seen three of them, all from different operators. The rear window was the same as on the PD4103. I have been told there was a difference in some vent openings on each side above the windows just behind the driver and the entrance door. Other than that, I believe they were identical.
I have seen statements on other forums from time to time that the PD4102 had the same rear window setup as the PDA4101. In other words, GM transit rear windows. Based on the three buses I saw, I think that is in error.
