When were the 1979 GMD T8H-5307A's retired and What were those buses replaced by? The oldest buses I've seen and rode from Green Lines were the 1979 GMC RTS's. |

I read somewhere on the internet that 630-1 ex Triboro RTS 03 630 was at the Green Lines garage around 1999-2000. What was the condition of that bus and when was it retired from service? |

I don't those buses were retired while in NYC. I suspect they (and those at TCC, ST/QT) were sold. I do recall seeing an ex-ST/QT GMDD 5307A at Foxwoods Casino in the mid-1990s. |

I saw a picture of Green 361 at NIMCO on the bustalk GBL Fishbowl gallery but the year is unknown and on the picture there is Green 604-1(ex-cTc 1976 Fishbowl) and a 1979 RTS with the final GBL Paint Scheme.
Also, what buses allowed the ex-Triboro and Jamaica RTS-03's to get retired and did they ever have the final GBL paint scheme?
Recently I saw on the web that some Transit Corporation in Canada retired a 1981 GMDD Fishbowl from QSC. |

Someone on youtube found the 1014 picture and I uploaded it to this site. This was the one I saw. It's weird that it has 2 stripes when many GBL RTS had 1

I'd say they at least left Green Line in 1993 or '94. When I graduated high school in June of '94 they weren't around anymore. Nor were any other fishbowls except some garbage buses from 1976 which I believe were 9xx-1 numbers. |

I would say they were replaced by the RTSs from 1993. What has happened to 1012? |

Then what did the 1997 Orions 5501-5544 replace? |

I'm not sure because I wan't paying much attention in '97 but it might have been those 1979 RTS buses that were borrowed. They may not have replaced anything per se rather just fill gaps. But certainly by 1997 the new looks were gone. |

The Orions replaced maybe the last fishbowls and RTS03's, all the borrowed buses. A bunch of them were for more buses in operation.
When they were brand new, they had operator decals put on them and sent on the road after NYSDOT inspections. Fareboxes were installed as time and availability permitted. Green stripes started happening in 1998. The surge in rides from the free metrocard transfer in 97 is what caused that to happen.
The transfer of QSC Orion V's and TMC's is what done in the GBL RTS03's. |

That all sounds plausible but I'm pretty certain that the new looks were all gone in 1994. In fact at that time I thought it was amazing that the TA had 5227 running but Green Line didn't have anymore of them left. I have no proof other than observations from back then. And being out here in Rockaway, we always had the scraps of whatever they owned it seemed. I cannot tell when those 03 RTSs left because I didn't care about them at all. |

I forgot the TMC's were 1994 so I think you are right, fishbowls gone way before Orion V's. |

The last fishbowls out here that I remember were borrowed from I don't know where, maybe Jamaica? I think they had 9xx numbers and were from 1976. I didn't like them one bit. They were awful. Up to 1992 maybe early '93 there were original GBL fishbowls 116 and 118 from 1968. 311 from 1976 and the 1979 355-64 bunch. Plus various borrowed buses from TCC, and Jam. |
