Vancouver, British Columbia is one impressive cosmopolitan city and, despite its very northerly location, enjoys a rather temperate climate - I can see why the film industry flocks there.

Our cruise to Alaska ended at Vancouver about mid morning last Saturday and, because our flight back to L.A. wasn't until early evening, we took advantage of a special tour of the city.

Our tour bus (pictured below) was an MCI model D4500 operated by Horizon Coach Lines, Ltd. of Vancouver and actually was an ex Alaska Gray Line according to the driver.

Because our sightseeing stops were almost entirely limited to the very beautiful Stanley Park and Gardens, I had little opportunity to take many other bus photos except what I could capture from where I was sitting on the bus.

Enjoy!

Mr. 'L'

Nice to see the trolley buses, Mr. Linsky, even if they are new ones.

In fact, the 40 foot trolley buses are built in between 2005 and 2007 (E40LFR), and the 60 foot (articulated) trolley buses(E60LFR) are built in between 2007 and 2009. Those buses replace Flyer E901A/E902 trolleys from 1982/1983.

Linsky, you should have stayed around an extra day or two to see transit valhalla. Yeah, its expensive, it rains every day, there are panhandlers all over the place (just like home in LA, right?), but this is a transit paradise:

You want trolley buses? You got trolley buses! From the MBS meeting in rainy, overcast Vancouver, April 2010.

This is how you equip the training department at an all-trackless division. "See these wires? You have to drive the bus where the wires go..."

Mixing it up with a Nova LFS at the end of the Granville route.

A far sight nicer looking than those ugly Skodas in San Francisco, don't you think?

Fine-looking overhead as well. Ca-nucks? Oh, sorry 'bout that.
