Done. |
Thanks.

Unfortunately, it will be like this until either fare rises and the trip becomes crowded all the time, which will be a problem since artics are on those run on sunday. Btw why does Hartford have pulse points on Sunday? |

The reasoning for the pulse on Sunday is because service is hourly on all the lines except the 66 it minimizes the waiting time for connections.
However it's been alot busier on Sundays than it used to be, plus the buses are going farther out and the timing of the runs has never caught up to that fact. That is the major problems with alot of the runs in Hartford, the running times are way too tight and there is not enough recovery time at the ends on the lines. Artics are not gonna solve that problem. |

They thought it would. Like i said before, the 88 to Manchester Center is about 35 minutes long. It might have been 30 minutes 10-20 years ago when it was on a 2 hour headways, but now it puts every other bus behind. If there was something like an Manchester Center Flyer, it would work out well. |

What should happen is that the 88 should go all the way out to the Lydall Street on Sundays. They would have to add a bus to do this but it would expand the service and not have the drivers pushing like madmen to get out to Manchester and back in a hour. It's a shame the passengers can figure out that it can't be done but the scheduling department at CTTransit can't. |

I susepct it's not that they haven't figured this out, but rather that they can't afford the $1,200 or so this extra bus would cost to run each Sunday. |

I think if Ct Transit cuts/decrease low ridership service on some midday routes, that savings can add service for sundays. |

You have GOT to be kidding?!?
So that means all the artics will be out on Sunday.....if they can keep them running. The crowding is gonna be ridiculous!
So what happens to the Bradley Flyer?....the big thing was for that bus to be hourly all week long! |

Its on two hour headways on weekends. And instead of the city investing money into "the triangle," they should invest along with the state to expand sunday service. |

The state can cry poverty all they want....the money is there, they are wasting it for that future failure known as the busway. |

The busway is being built with capital money, the majority of which is coming from the federal government. Those funds cannot be used for operations. |

They can go with an hr and thirty minute headways with certain trips operating 45 minute headways and two pulse points.
for example:
Buses that currently runs on sundays:
5S
30X/30N(Last Trip)
31B
32+40
35X
38C
39W/37(Last Trip)
42+46
45X
47W
50B/50C(Certain Trip)
58
60/62/66
63A/37(Last Trip)
76C
82C
83
88
91
Rockville Shuttle
Possible alternative:
Make 2 pulse points with these trips.
5S (12:00 Only)
30X (Runs every 2 hours and 15 minutes)
31B
32+40
35X
38C
37
39W
42
45X (3 AM trips & 4 PM trips)
46N (Trip Short turns at the North End Senior Center)
47W/47T (Every 45 minutes; Trips will now serve Town Line Rd and then Executive Sq before returning to the Wethersfield Shops)
50D (Does the 50B trip and the continues to Bishops Corner via Bloomfield Avenue, Cottage Grove Rd, & North Main St.)
52
58
63A
62
66H
76C
82C/82+84(6:00 trip only)
83
88C/88M
91 (Even though it's a Crosstown, trip will still only runs on the hour not linking up with the 47 or east of river trips.)
95P
First pulse has:
31B
32+40
35X
38C
39W
45X
46T
47T
50D
58
63A
66H
82C
83
88M
Second pulse:
31B
35X
37
38C
42
45X
47T
52
62
76C
88C
95P
Night Pulse:
30X outbound; 30N inbound*
31B*
35X
37*
42+46*
45X
47W*
50C*
60*
76C
88*
*=Final Pulse
Pulse starts at 8 after all buses come back from their first trip:
8:00-First Pulse
8:45-Second pulse
9:30-First Pulse
10:15-Second pulse
11:00-First Pulse
11:45-Second pulse
12:30-First Pulse
1:30-Second pulse
2:15-First Pulse
3:00-Second pulse
3:45-First Pulse
4:30-Second pulse
5:15-First Pulse
6:00-Second pulse
6:45-First Pulse
7:45-Night Pulse
9:00-Final Pulse
The 30X would run every 2 hrs and 15 minutes starting with first pulse at 8 AM and then follow out night pulse times. The 5S would leave at 12:00. The 45X runs three morning trips at 8, 9:30, & 11; and four afternoon trips at 3, 4:30, 6, & 7:45.
It might be a bit confusing, but its worth a try. |
