Those 20xx buses seem to like to break down in the HOV lane don't they?
I wonder if those buses can kneel like the rest of the buses. |

Ok, then assuming that it didn't have some type of front end failure, then maybe the bus was in the kneeling when B53RICH saw it. |

Now it was 2005's turn to break down this afternoon. I spotted it on the right shoulder E/B LIE just before Exit 57. The rear engine door was open and a maintainance vehicle in front of it. |

Maybe the break downs on the 20xx's is the reason that 9908 was seen on the S58 yesterday. |

I've been working on it for a while now, with help from friends, and from what people post here and else were, as well as my own sightings and from photos and videos that people post. It's a list of all the buses run on any route, Some of course aren't 100% accurate because of the lack of records, I also should say that these are buses Suffolk County brought and not any buses that the private companies owned before the County took over transit operations.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AqqajQX0sAerdEVkMGVEM1hkeTA4YXNLcFA1eHQyYnc
If you have seen buses on a route, or seen a picture/video of a bus on a route that aren't mentioned please let me know and I'll add them. |

Has anyone seen 9940, it was first believed to be used on the S61 and 7B back in March but it turns out that the person who though he saw it doesn't have any record of seeing it (he records the bus number of all buses he sees and what route he saw it on, he helped me with most of my records in the post above). He is checking his records to see if he saw that bus on those routes in last October, which means that bus may have been retired.
Anyway has anyone seen 9940 on any of Suffolk Bus Corps routes with in the last year? |

I'll double check, but all the numbers came out to 35, though I think I didn't know about the one that burned in the 1986 fire @ Suffolk Bus Corp.
I thought the Alert Coach New Flyers were renumbered 623-625, or at least thats what someone said that had almost the same info as you on another site.
Oh and was there actually a Gillig Phantom @ Sunrise numbered 125, I've only been told the only one Gillig Phantom with that number.
Do you happen to know when any of the buses were retired, I think I know when most were except for the Chance RT's |

You were right I got 37 when I recounted all the 1982 Chance RT-50's, I'm not sure how I missed two.
There were also 31 1982 Gillig Phantoms, I never counter Coram Bus 7 and Suffolk Bus Corp # 818 because one was said to be retired early and the other burned respectfully. And adding the #125 that was at Sunrise.
I'll make the fix in a few days |

Now for some REALLY early stuff: County bought some used fishbowls early on, most gone by 87 or so:
TDH4519
Suffolk 527 orig Utica 507
Suffolk 837 orig ConnCo 2133 wrecked 1987
Suffolk 840 orig Utility Lines 326
Coram 292-294 orig Blue Motor Coach (Louisville)
Suffolk 700 orig Steubenville Bus 539
Sunrise 111 orig Blue Bird Coach (Olean) 165
EBT 104 new to EBT
T6H4521
Suffolk 517 orig Utica 517
Suffolk 528 orig Utica 528 burn 1/16/86
and a few Flxible 45096-6-1's:
Suffolk 828 ex Lynchburg 600 - burned 1/16/86
Suffolk 829 ex Lynchburg 601
Suffolk 836 ex Lynchburg 602
EBT 14 ex Lynchbureg 603
EBT 15 ex Lynchburg 607 to Suffolk 828 (2nd)
THere were probably more used buses involved, but by 1995 this was all that county had record of. |
