From another part of the world, we see fleet #8 - a 1947 GM Coach Model TDH 4507 and one of only two (the other being #7) originally delivered by GM's Overseas Operations division to N.H.A.D.O. (Noord-Hollandsche AutoDienst Ondern) in Antwerp, Belgium in November of that year.

The upper photo was taken in the late seventies at the company's facility in the Bergen area of North Holland while on its way to restoration after thirty years of service in the 'Land of Tulips'.

Of note, aside from the lack of a ThermoMatic system, is the fact that, while GM had prepared the buses for directional signals as noted by the shorter stainless wings under the windshield, they were never installed although there are small lights between the wings and the headlamps which may have served that purpose.

The 'square rigger' logo amidships represented the company's trademark.

Coach #8 (serial 1660) of this order is preserved by the SVA in Holland. After initial delivery, the buses went to city of Bergen-Binnen in the Province of Noord-Holland, Netherlands (the center and lower frames shows one of the buses still in service).

On a personal note; I visited Belgium and Holland with my parents in the mid fifties but never took notice of the buses.

MR 'L' -

Hmmm... Also, note the vertical post, just in back of driver side window, and at "belt line" level of windows and sash.
There is a quite small, apparently "yellow" lamp there, too. We may guess that is all the local vehicle "regs" required?
We should assume it a turn signal?
