Check out this production at 3:02 from Chevrolet called 1935 Chevrolet Leader News Volume 2

In the first segment they have a car driving on the railroad bridge from Miami to the Keys, and suggest that's the way to go since there aren't many trains. I'll bet the railroad was enthralled with that idea.
