A snowy-day garage scene, 1977.

Here we see NHBL's Fishbowls B-123 and B-134 snoozing under a light dusting of snow.

Note PSNJ Old Look at the rear, obviously stripped for parts.

Bus on extreme left looks to be a WASHINGTON STREET (Hoboken) unit.....

SHBL veteran B-1 awaiting departure time at JSQ, in 1972.

This is clearly an "off hour" shot, more than likely an early Sunday morning, as buses crowded "The Square" almost 24/7.

Sure wish I had that metal "SOUTH BOULEVARD BUS" sign!

None of the old business seen here remain today.....

Well into the 70's, the defunct BLUE & WHITE operated several pristine New Look Macks.

AFAIK, these were the last MACKS tyo operate in NJ.

These handsome coaches were nothing short of stunning!

This MACK is signed for the #97 JOURNAL SQUARE, though clearly on a fantrip/charter.....

To think I've lived within 10 minutes of this location, since 1974!

This 1981 scene, at the dawn of the NJT era, shows ex-ORANGE & BLACK (MAPLEWOOD) Fishbowls #'s 670 and 666, in front of the old O&B garage at Fairview, fronting Anderson Avenue (looking north)

Today, NABI's and Neoplan artics now are stabled at this garage....and it just ain't the same......

Rear of the old O&B garage at Fairview, 1982.

Later in the 70's, a number of ex INTER CITY coaches were brought to Fairview; while a number of the Fishbowls ran on the old O&B lines for some years, several were used for parts, as was the case with #180.

Note that ex-O&B #815 had been repainted in the 1970's MAPLEWOOD colors, but, by the time of this photo, was clearly OOS.....

Ex-O&B #665 laying over at the Fairview garage, 1981.

Note the "RIVER ROAD EXPRESS" sign; this was a rush-hour only run which I rode for many years when I worked in lower Manhattan.

At the time of this photo, a large reservoir was located behind the trees, running along Anderson and Edgewater Avenues.

A number of years back, the reservoir was replaced by a large water tank to the rear of the property, which is now the site of a large A&P and other retail establishments......

It's only a few minutes walk from my humble abode to the location of this rainy-day shot at Anderson & Aurora, 1983.......

Here's #665 again, heading south on Anderson; within 45 minutes, the old Fishbowl will be unloading its passengers at the PABT at 41st St. in Manhattan.

Only the bus and the autos date this photo; remarakably, this scene looks virtually unchanged today.

No wonder why the big gas-guzzler on the left has been ticketed.....he's parked in the BUS STOP!

This location is still a stop today.......

Another "local" shot for yours truly, dating from 1981......

Looking north on Anderson (at Washington); my Aunt Rosie and Uncle Jack then lived on Washington, just a few doors down from the corner.

Ex-INTER CITY #242 is bound for the PABT, via the Lincoln Tunnel.

The long-gone Westinghouse "WHITEWAY" street lights date this old scene as much as the Fishbowl......

Ex-O&B #665 seems to have been a most photogenic coach.....<G>

This 1981 view was taken at 32nd St., Union City, my old hometown, where I lived until my family moved out in 1971.

The bus has just left the Lincoln Tunnel, and is bound for Fort Lee, while holding down a No. 9 run.

Note the Empire State Building in the background; also, the barriers for the "tunnel cuts", leading to Route #3 ("S-3" to old-timers like yours truly!)

The old TRAILWAYS storefront depot was just several doors up the block.

Ahhhhh, my old stomping grounds.....what memories.....

Another "local" scene that hasn't changed much throughout the years (Bergenline Avenue & 81 St., North Bergen)

My Aunt Rita then lived just two blocks south of here, on 79th St.

O&B #660 is inbound to the PABT; the bus following was operated by the long-defunct FranMar company, which then operated the #22 between Fort Lee/Cliffside Park and Hoboken (later, this line was taken over by ACADEMY)

North Hudson ("Hudson County") Park is seen on the right.

Fishbowls have been gone from this area for many a year as I type these words.

The #22, today operated by NJT, no longer serves its former northern terminal, having been cut back to Nungessers several years ago.......
