A little bit of war time (the big one) remembrance below in the form of a Hudson Transit Lines schedule dated October 1944 along with a company operations map showing many of its exclusive New York State routes and stops as a franchisee of the Short Line System.
Of note at the bottom of the schedule is a reminder of general travel restrictions as placed by the government during World War II.
The bus depicted in the upper photo, the design of which was inspired by Greyhound, was one of 121 Model PD and PG 3701's built by Yellow Coach between 1940 and 1941 for general sales.

That is another example of back in the days when virtually every paved highway had some sort of bus scheduled over it.... |
