Cable TV channel HBO has paid New York's MTA to outfit four Lo-Voltage subway cars with "Boardwalk Empire" ads to promote the second season premier of their series "Boardwalk Empire".

The cars are the same vintage as the TV show (around 1920) and run on the #2 Line on weekends in September, shuttling between 96th Street and 42nd Street from shortly after noon to around 6 PM; 72nd Street is the only intermediate stop.

You don't suppose the general riding public is boarding during these TV shoots?

You mean to tell me the "garden variety" New York Car doesn't look like this anymore? I haven't been keeping up on news updates! <G>
