In a photo taken in the environs of Savannah, Georgia earlier this year we see fleet # 0002 - a 1998 Motor Coach Industries Model MC-12 and one of two operating for the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System.

Donated to the district by First Student Corporation, the buses have been completely refurbished both inside and out and are cosmetically and mechanically like new.

# 0002 is ex Greyhound # 3095 and one of 1354 MC-12's built exclusively for that company between 1991 and 1998 with most being assigned to Pool # 263 (all 48 states operation).

Still a very hansom looking coach even by today's standards!

Nice bus, but I don't care for that color scheme very much. I especially dislike paint over the 'silversides'.
I wonder why First Student would donate that equipment to the school distrcit? A tax write-off?
Does First Student get a contract to operate the buses for the school perhaps?

I would imagine that First Student does have the school contract.

There have been a couple of MC12 units lurking at the Louisville Greyhound terminal in recent weeks. They don't seem to venture too far away, maybe used just for the rare double or a regular run that doesn't need a big bus.

These buses are getting up in years and I cannot imagine how many miles are on them now, but it is notable that I haven't seen a G4500 around here in months other than the occasional TNM&O unit.
