I work in a dry environment so rust and corrosion problems do not occur. The local environmental regulations are involved with many of our decisions to retire many of our bus models. The buses themselves could kept in service. Of our buses only 3 types have what I would call have old age problem. This is separate from 600-750 thousand mile wear and tear problems.

Flex 870, Entire front of bus had dropped 3/4 inch in relation to the roof and sides.
Gilleg Phantom, Body and engine fire wall cracking from fatigue.
ElDarado, Bad from day one but maybe I do not like light duty coach's.

The newer electronic busses if you know how to work on them are much better then even our RTS and should last a long time. Even the joints on our articulated ones should last 25 plus years if we kept them. Remember dry and no salt.
