On eBay with an opening bid of $500,000. Looks like it's been painted back to its original red.

I see that the auction ended without the reserve being met.

Still doesn't answer the one word question I posed on another board. Why ?
PPL has a history of preserving its old coaches.

Maybe the company isn't doing as well as it once did - it has a lot more competition now on its biggest route from Megabus and the various Chinatown operators.

There is a story at the bottom of the listing on E-Bay that hints at the fact the son is running PPL since the father passed away. The Future Liner was the fathers project.

With that said, if the son is not interested in that bus why not sell it to someone who is? And thats barring a money situation forcing the sale of the Future Liner.

Don't get me wrong because I think GM's Future Liner's were the greatest thing since sliced bread, but $500,000 is a little steep especially in the economic climate that now prevails!

I have no doubt though that it will eventual sell probably in the two or three hundreds range and will be well taken care of by whomever purchases it - so, not to worry!

I believe that of the twelve that were originally built, Peter Pan's is one of only three left.

Regards,

Mr. 'L'

There are 9 believed to still be in existence, four of which are reportedly beyond restoration.

Over four million dollars for a Future Liner?

I wasn't sure before but now I know the world is going insane!

I watched that other Futureliner sell on the Barret-Jackson auction a few years ago. Amazing!
As for Peter Pan....while it is certainly a nice collectable, it really has no historic signifigance for that carrier to have one.
