Pictured below and taken about 1940 in the environs of Hartford, is fleet number 747 - a late thirties Yellow Coach operating for The Connecticut Company.

# 747 is either a 32 passenger model 728 or a 36 passenger model 731 but, even this would-be expert cannot make a positive identification without a score card as both models are identical from a front end view.

However, Yellow Coach records indicate that Connecticut did purchase 86 728's and 72 731's between 1935 and 1939.

The Connecticut Company (also known as ConnCo) operating under the auspices of the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad Company was a streetcar and bus operator in Hartford, New Haven, and Stamford, Connecticut and from 1920 to 1936 also controlled nearly all local railways and buses within the state.

I have now made a more positive identification of Connecticut # 747 above;

Seen from a side angle below is Connecticut # 746 which is most assuredly a Yellow Model 728.

The 32 passenger model 728 was one window shorter (between the two doors) or four seats less than the 36 passenger model 731.
