Seen traveling along downtown Norfolk's Granby Street sometime in 1954 is fleet number 907 - a 1951 GM Model TDH 4509 and one of twenty (901 to 920) delivered to the Virginia Transit Company of Norfolk, Virginia in that year.
While #907 and its siblings were not air conditioned, the company's next order of sixteen TDH 4512's in 1959 were and were among the first factory units offered by GM.
Aside from its local routes within Norfolk, Virginia Transit provided some service in both Richmond and Petersburg.
The company, established in 1944, came under the control of various enterprises after 1974 but is now part of Hampton Roads Transit.
