Cleary, this road-weary early 1950's WESTERN FLYER has seen better days; still its handsome lines remain quite evident.

Note that some "customizing" has been done in the interior....at first glance, I though interior had been taken over by moss! Shocked

Still an impressive, historic coach!

Front view.....

Here's another war-weary (but still commanding) veteran WESTERN FLYER; this one is a 1954 model......

Still a TOUGH-looking coach, retaining that distinctive air of dignity......

Those are rugged-looking beasts....sort of a cross between a Brill and a Silversides....
Too bad the interior was spoiled with that ugly shag carpeting....
And that is one serious-looking steering wheel.

traildriver....

Agreed!

A RUGGED-looking beast indeed, with far more "heft" to its appearance than the lookalike boxes of today! Very Happy

I also, like yourself, took an instant dislike to that green shag inside.....as I said earlier, I had thought that the interior had been ravaged by MOSS! Confused

Here's a rear view of the same coach.....the rounded rear windows were indeed de riguer in coach design, during that era....I sure miss buses like this!

....and....the grizzled "guts" that kept that once-proud beast hummin' along the highways.....

It certainly looks to me like Western Flyer took some design cues from California's Crown Coach school buses of the era.

Nice shots.

Thanks for sharing.
