Seen sometime in the early fifties on a back street in Jersey City, New Jersey is fleet number A503 - a 1947 GM Model TDM 4008 and one of over 160 TDM and TDH 4008's operating for Public Service Interstate Transport of Newark, New Jersey (an affiliate of Public Service Coordinated Transport created specifically for both interstate commuter and charter operations).

The Coordinated division, which operated only within the bounds of New Jersey, boasted its own fleet of nearly 300 TDM and TDH 4008's giving the combined companies fully one quarter of that model's production.

NJPS, as they were commonly referred to, was the largest transit operation in the nation and second only to Greyhound as a long standing Yellow/GM customer.

In fact, just as Greyhound's designers and engineers worked closely with GM on their unique needs, so did the specialists of Newark.

# A503 displays the company's own custom made cast aluminum wings and logo in place of GM's under the windshield along with factory fog lamps and special stop lights for school duties.
