Conn DOT will be auctioning off retired buses as well as surplus parts in the near future. The following buses, all in storage at New Haven (James Street), are expected to be included in the auction. There may be some additions to the list in the next week or two.

1994 D40HF: 941, 947, 950, 958, 960

1996 Nova Classic 9602, 9603, 9604, 9605, 9609, 9614, 9615, 9619, 9620, 9621, 9639

1996 RTS A101, A102, A103, A104, A105, A107, A108, A109, A110, A111, A112, A113, A114, A115, A116, A117, A118, A119, A120, A121, A122, A123, A124, A125, A126, A127, A128, A129, A130, A131, A132, A133, A134

1999 El Dorado 9903, 9904, 9906, 9907, 9908, 9909, 9910, 9911, 9912, 9913

RTS A106, which is still in Waterbury, is currently being loaded with our surplus parts inventory, and is expected to be sent to New Haven in the next few days.

It also would appear that some of the Classics are being retained for now. They are still being used in New Haven on a regular basis.

There are at least ten artics in Stamford at the moment...

I've seen quite a few Xcelisors in New Haven, here's a pic of one of them at Union Station working the Commuter Connection Sargent Drive route:

I've ridden it a couple times (on the B - Whalley Ave route) and the drivers seem to love how quiet it is.

Hey everyone. Quick question. When the order was put out for the 7xx series buses, was there's extra buses ordered for SEAT?

I was at the Hamden facility Monday and the El Dorados were in the process of being decomissioned. Absolutely nobody there is sad to see them go.

As for the Classics, 9603, 9604, 9605, 9610, 9614 and 9623 are at Hamden with fareboxes removed, being held in reserve. Some of these buses had appeared on the list to be auctioned, but it now seems that CT Transit will be holding on to them. Also saw 9606, 9607, 9611, 9618 and 9640 there, still active. Some pictures are below.

One other observation that I noted was that during morning peak, there were only about three buses available as spares in the bus storage area. The shop was full, mostly with D40LF's. There were a couple of Xcelsiors and artics as well, with one of each being held for HVAC training.

I was told that the driver training on the artics is progressing slowly, which is why they are not being fully utilized yet.
