One of my all time favorite vintage buses has to be the GM TDH 4507 not only because it was a very popular model with 3,045 built between 1946 and 1949 but because I had the privilege of often driving them during my three summers with Green Line (NY).
In searching records, only less than a handful of 4507's have been preserved including one in Holland, two in Los Angeles, one in upstate New York and the feature of this presentation - a 1947 Model carrying fleet number 1426 and one of two-hundred (1400 to 1599) delivered to the Baltimore Transit Company of Baltimore, Maryland.
The bus, pictured below (top) in the 'fruit salad' livery of the infamous 'National City Lines' is the product of a salvage effort by Father Kevin A. Mueller, pastor of the Church of the Holy Apostles in Gambrills, Md.
Aside from surviving all these years, #1426's claim to fame is it's bit part in a 2009 film entitled 'My One and Only' starring Kevin Bacon and Renee Zelwegger which was shot on the streets of Baltimore with Father Mueller behind the wheel - a special dispensation granted by a 'higher authority'! - second photo below.
In his spare time, Father Mueller volunteers his services at the Baltimore Street Car Museum as an operator and enjoys every minute of it (final photo).
