In a photo taken in summer of 2009 at the Orion factory in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, we see the new Hybrid body shell of a Model VII NG NEV in New York City MTA Transit livery being readied for its trip across the U.S. border for completion at the company's Oriskany, New York assembly plant.
1350 Model VII's equipped with 6.7 liter Diesel generators in combination with the first use Lithium Ion batteries on a transit bus have been delivered to the city completing an order placed in early 2009.
The Canadian built Orion or any other foreign made bus must be partially completed in the United States using U.S. made parts for operators to be eligible for federal subsidies in order to purchase them.

WCA:
As an astute attorney would argue in court "Objection - assumes facts not in evidence"
The title says that the bus is ready for its first run. But doesn't it need at least an engine and some wheels?
Better title would have been "Partially assembled for its first run".
Have a great week

ECA,
The run we're talking about is the one from one factory to another! (and, if you'll notice, it does have wheels!).

Thanks for posting Mr. L. Now I'm just wondering what bus that is. It would have to be somewhere from 3960-45xx. Not sure which bus is the last one without the straight black all the way back. |

Where the front bumper should be there is writing in black. Usually says NYMTA and some numbers. Its not the bus number, but might be part of the vin-- not sure. Now the hard part-- can somebody enlarge the picture and still read it? |

GBL,
This is about the best that I can do - it's those pixels again - they'll kill you when you try to enlarge.
Good luck!

Mr. 'L'
