The fifth and sixth stops on my SoCal transit tour brings us to the Inland Empire, one of the hottest areas in California. This region is home to three transit agencies of which two will be highlighted here.

Riverside Transit Agency is a small but effective system covering Riverside and the surrounding areas with rush hour express service into Orange County. The Fleet is almost 100% NABI with two orders (2101-2147 & 2201-2247) and a small batch of 1997 New Flyer C40LFs that are on reserve status.

First up is NABI 2138 just north of Downtown on Route 10, bathing in the morning sunlight:

Next is 2109, after a long layover departs the Downtown Transit Terminal on Route 15 to the local Mall and major transit hub, The Galleria at Tyler:

Finally, here is 3006, a Thomas SLF CNG bus assigned to the Commuter Link service:

Down the road is San Bernandino and its Transit agency, OmniTrans. This system sans a few Thomas SLF CNG buses is 100% New Flyer. Omnitrans just retired the last of their RTSs and Orion V CNGs. The newest buses in service are 27 New Flyer C40LFRs (1200s)

Seen here in Downtown San Bernandino is 1202 assigned to Route 215, a semi-express route that connects Riverside & San Bernandino via its namesake, I-215:

The Carousel Mall is one of several transit hubs served by Omnitrans, here 0031 is seen leaving its berth on Route 7, 0031 was among the first CNGs purchased by Omnitrans:

Pictured here is New Flyer 0188, among the last of the C40LFs, at Fontana Metrolink Station on Route 15. Route 15 is one of four routes that runs from Fontana into Downtown San Bernandino:

0111 and another coach on Layover at the Montclair Transit Center where they share the center with Foothill Transit:

Route 61 is the longest route Omnitrans runs, servicing between Ponoma TransCenter & Fontana Metrolink, a 85 minute ride. Here is 0115 at Ponoma taking a break before its next run:
