Here's a great little scene circa the mid twenties right out of the pages of historic Manhattan, New York.
Standing in what almost looks just like a Universal movie set on Avenue 'D' at East 10th. Street is a fabled 'AC' Mack in stake body configuration waiting to be pressed into service.
Aside from a copy of 'the world's most famous truck', this image is priceless to we New York nostalgia fans what with the cast iron building facades and the wonderful old street lamps that helped make the borough so famous.

And photo itself was taken by Berenice Abbott in 1937 as part of her Changing New York project for the WPA. The original is in the collection of the Museum of the City of New York. |
