In the photo below (top) taken in 1924 somewhere in the southeastern U.S., we see four of the famous Mack Model AC Bulldog stake bodies preparing to unload empty soda cases at the Christo Bottling Company - a well know eastern distributor of soft drinks in the days of yore..
The trucks were part of a large fleet operated by the Piggly Wiggly Corporation serving its super markets in eighteen Midwest and southern states.
Founded in 1916 in Memphis,Tennessee, Piggly Wiggly was the first to open a modern self-service grocery store (see lower image of original location) and still maintains a dominant presence along the lower east coast.

Mr "L" -
The towering building in B/G looked quite familiar. A web search for Christo delivered good leads. The photo done in Washington, DC,
in shadow of the Old Post Office! Intriquing details in this link:

HH,
That's why they say that 'two heads are better than one!'.
Unfortunately, the source of my photo never bothered to caption it properly but, in researching both Piggly Wiggly and Christo, I was able to triangulate a general location.
Sometime in the late fifties, Piggly Wiggly attempted to break out westward and opened their first (if not only) store on Ventura Boulevard in the San Franando Valley section of Los Angeles.
With it's vast expanse (almost a mini Wal-Mart size) and its clever marketing of products by stacking them pyramid style to the ceilings, Piggly Wiggly became an instant success and tourist attraction because there was nothing else like it.
Apparently though, they must have decided that the west coast was too distant for them to oversee and supply and probably sold out because they're long gone now.
Regards.
