I believe the missing window was due to the front doorway being widened to accommodate a wheelchair lift.

Look how close the doorpost is to the wheelwell in the photo of Santa Monica 5180 in the OP ...

As far as I can tell they still run GM fishbowls in Toronto and Saskatoon to this very day. Not sure where else though.

On this page there is a video of the RTX in operation. It does say it was gas-turbine powered.

Actually the Route 43 schedule also lists a few trips to/from 13th & Market, not all the way to Broadway. I *think* they're garage trips.
