I was thinking either 'TWS' or 'TS'. But now that you mention it, Johnson/Keene was ubiquitous on MaBSTOA bus rolling stock.

Wouldn't this route have been known, after 1975-76, as X8? I know the 'R' prefix was attributable to Staten Island, pre-1975, being officially known as the Borough of Richmond . . .
