This is an interesting photo; note that the front of the bus reflects distinct Old Look styling.

In Mr. Ogdens "NEW YORK'S FIFTH AVENUE COACH COMPANY", there is a picture showing a simila ...

Pic 2230 is def. ex FACCo (it specifically states it was once 2211, ergo one of the 1945-46 FACCo bus orders). I'm reckoning Pic 1547 was an STS/ST bus, given how much of a basket case it was, as wel ...

All:

A couple of quick questions.....

Were the late model Old Looks (the buses with the extended front roller sign box) FACCo. or NYCTA buses as delivered?

2:

When did the NYCTA/MTA retire ...

Pic 850 with OA 3318, shows how 132nd Street was one of the original depot assignments for these first buses ordered for MaBSTOA in 1963 . . . though the sign for the 4 route was a few months afterwar ...

I figured there was a financial enticement behind FACCo's expansion into Queens, not just with the 15 - Jackson Heights but also the 16 - Elmhurst Crosstown line, that the reasons weren't altruistic o ...

I am with ya' on the in-depth look on the FACL (and ST) New Looks that wasn't. Namely, which were the main depot assignments. I know quite a few were at 132nd Street (namely A/C #4, 3104 and 3135) w ...

I also wis ...

Personally, I never thought the day would come when the fancy "MABSTOA" script emblazoned on the buses would disappear; I really miss that era of "individuality" among New York's b ...
