In my area, as a lad, most folks NEVER referred to PATH as "PATH"; it was always "PATH tubes", "Hudson Tubes", or, most often, simply, "the Tubes".

I always found tokens both convenient and traditional.....
Which is most likely why PATH, "Em-Tee-Yay" and other transit agencies did away with them and went all "digital" . . .

Just did a quick check; OMNY is NOT accepted on "the tubes"; "METROCARD" was also not accepted.......... Sad

Last I was on PATH, they DID accept Me ...
