This is number 1592 a Yellow Coach model 731 New York City Omnibus.
Last I heard it was to be preserved.

The straps were extra cost options. But since NYCTA & MABSTOA bought large numbers am sure the cost was incorporated in the final price per bus.

These ACF-Brill model C-44 were the first 35 foot suburbans purchased by Public Service in 1947 along with a group of GM transits.
They were numbered A900-A917. |
