MtaOperator, I'll take a stab at it but bear in mind that my familiarity with New York has substantially wanned over the past several years (living most of the time in L.A.). I would have to say that the bus is an ex Jamaica and the area is possibly the Bayridge section of Brooklyn. My hint that it might be Brooklyn comes from the 'Kings Inn' sign. Of course, if I had a Brooklyn phone book I probably could have given you the exact address! Happy Thanksgiving. Mr. Linsky

That's LGA Depot, the ex-Jamaica RTS that was caught in the CNG fire earlier this year.
Though, I haven't seen that pic yet... Just uploaded it?
But, that bus was literally burnt to the ground!

Yeah I agree this is the ex JBL Fried RTS at LGA Depot where the tire shop and CNG fuelling station caught on fire. I like the paint scheme Wow I'm looking forward to seeing some more of your photos MTAOperator.

Hello, I'm a new member from the LGA Depot. I have this pic of the other side of this bus but it doesn't have a bus number on it but it is an ex jamaica bus 11xx.
Q19A, Welcome to BTN - looking forward to your contributions. You may be able to ascertain the Jamaica's bus number from the license plate (L-99011) presuming that MTA doesn't change tags when they change bus numbers. Mr. Linsky

Of the 12 or so damaged buses from the water - were any of them saved or did any of them also end up as beyond recovery as well?

The CNG O5s survived, and I imagine the MCIs survived...only 1145 got completely destroyed.

Mr. LinskySome of the former Green Lines buses still have their former GBL tags (even repaints), but most of them have brand new license plates. (The buses WERE suppposed to get new plates upon takeover.)

I thought the licence plate swaps in the late 90's and early 2000's was for the upcoming takeover? they were changed from "BUS" to "OFFICIAL". I was told this by a former Green Line driver. Also, IIRC, years ago, NYCTA buses had the bus number stamped (like engraved) into the license plates. Do they still do that?
