Right QV only has 456,505-519 as the remaining O5's. I really liked those buses why can't CS get some damn repowered TMC's like everybody else.

Well I haven't seen any posts in regards to QV getting buses to replace the O5's nor have I seen any. So what's going on?

I believe that more RTS buses are going to come the way of QV. The reason because as past precedence shows us that when QV gave up the orions they gained RTS buses to replace them.

Saw 516 "up-close" yesterday at 39th Ave. For some reason, it has 4 sets of Quality Control/Depot stickers on it. Two on each side, front & rear. All Stengel.

I could be wrong, but either 514, 515, 516 or 517 has a weird configuration on the rear light system. I saw it briefly last month, either its got the turn signals on the bottom or yellow lights where the brake lights are supposed to be or one brake light on top and one flasher on the bottom - something odd like that. My hands were full on the QBX1 or I would have wrote down the exact situation - but I know its one of those 500's that I mentioned - and it has a weird rear light configuration.

I'll try to keep an eye out for that.

I noticed 541 doing the Q27 the other day.  Is Queens Village getting some of Stengel's Orions?  Or was this bus always there at Queens Village?

Did 541 have QV stickers? Otherwise, the last time I saw it was out of CS. Could have been a situation where QV was short and a CS bus covered. It would not make sense for QV to give 516 and up just to get 541.

But then again, anything is possible.

or maybe a swap from road call. A QV bus breaks down in the flushing area, they bring a spare bus from Stengel.

Maybe if the MTA tried dangling a bone or a biscuit in front of it, it might go faster.

Theres not much you can do for those dog buses because these are at least 10 years old. It doesn't pay to rebuild these buses since they are going to be nearing the scrap age.

As of Thursday, add 513 (with QV stickers on Thursday) and 515 to the Stengel roster.

The last of the TMC's were repowered 2-3 years ago. If remember correctly.8364,8370,8374, and 8385 were the last unrepowered buses. 8364 and 8374 bit the dust. 8370 was repowered and was scrapped a little while after. 8385 was repowered and then sent to Zerega...and then on to BP where it is now. Those buses were over 10 years and they were repowered. They could overhaul the 1995 O5 like they did 416 and 444 from West Farms. 444 has the jerkiest ride ever, As soon as the B/O let off the accelerator the retarder would slam the bus back real hard.

Is 8385 in revenue service at BP or is it for training, a la Zerega?  And what is Zerega using to replace it? Do they still have the 80xx's for that?

And out of Summer Hold, 514 on the Q20 this morning. I assume (but have not seen) 516 and 517 have come over too?

Really? Bus looked in great condition while at Zerega. Was always surprised it was used for training. Usually, older (i.e. 4560, 3980, 8088) buses were used at Zerega for training.
