As usual, a great job done by Mark. Sorry to see 8291 has been removed from service. I drove it on its maiden voyage on 6/14/91 on the S61. About 15 and a half years of service for NYCT.

Wouldn't SC need about 3 more to get rid of the last few 96" buses?

Actually four buses may need to be replace, because of 1180 and I know that could go to LGA in no time, but again it wouldn't make any sense to send it there, because the bus fit right in at SC.Back to your question:probably some repower buses might replace it or some buses from the other PBL's.

I know the feeling. It's nice to be the first to operate a new bus in passenger service. I've had that opportunity twice with the Orion VII's.

With respect to the roster, Orion VII #6433 has been tagged as OOS and scheduled to be towed. I haven't noticed any roster changes at QV. Everything looks good.

1171 is still in service, I saw it today, I believe 8582 is in service too but I saw it a few days ago I don't know if it's still there. I'm also a little uncertain about 5894, I'll go by JFK tomorrow and check it out.

Any chance this is going the same place 6484 ended up or what?  They are really acting up lately and we haven't even a had real winter under these babies yet this year.

8582 was on the Q60 today.  Also 1112 was on the Q19B.
There are a load of mistakes from what I saw.  When I get a free chance, I'll post them.

Also you guys mentioned 8291, I saw when 8256 and 8291 were headed away from JAM depot their home for thr last 2 years. They were driven west on Jamaica Ave. and right after Van Wyck they turned onto Metropolitan Ave. I also wonder where they were headed.

Pretty soon, MTA Bus will have more of the 1990 repowers than NYCT - with those transfers, that brings it to 103 for the TA and 98 for MTAB (according to the roster).

TMC RTS-06 #8281? Wasn't that the bus that was sold to the Fire Department? It was also UNrepowered too. Do you mean TMC RTS-06 #8381?

Sounds like LGA is about to get some more TMCs I doubt that BP will keep those extra 17 Repowers I hate to say this but I have to JFK LGA and FRK need to get rid of their GMCs Case in point........... 1112 is on my line the Q19B is barely able to go above 20 MPH that is sad so JFK and FRK need to send over those "extra TMCs"

Nice pic of 3597.  Sure looks out of place there.
As far as the roster-I understand with the new Orion 7s arriving, that the buses are being moved around all over the place either to other depots, storage or scrap.  However, I'm just saying that before a bus is placed into storage or scrap, lets get evidence of it being there before jumping the gun.  For example-8582 which was listed as storage/scrap was in service yesterday on the Q60.
I do appreciate the roster.  You did a good job with it.  I just saw a few errors with it-ie buses that were listed as storage/scrap are still in service buses at the wrong depots etc etc.

Yes 8381 with the lower side destination sign.  It was in the body shop today, already has its MTA Bus decals on it.  Sorry it was a typo.

I agree.  I know it's exciting when we see or hear about a bus move and we want to be the first one to post about it, but these rosters are an important reference tool during a time of historic change in New York City bus operations - it's worth taking a little extra time to verify the data.  Let's not assume a bus that had a farebox pulled, or left a depot etc., is automatically going into storage.  As we've seen, MTA Bus has resurrected a number of these.  Try to confirm that it is at Eastchester or another storage yard.

And if you're getting your news from an employee, make sure the source is reliable and in a position to know - I think we've all come across employees out there who will take the latest third-hand scuttlebutt and act like it came straight from the decision makers to them.

The lot behind the depot, across from Costco is packed with old tows, dispatcher trucks and a ton of old RTS buses it appears the are just rotting here, their are no 9000's here only the 8's and 2 mci's, which have been sitting their for months. Yukon is still lacking for buses tough at night the S84, is almost always borrowing a castleton bus and even the 61 lately. Breakdowns are becoming more eminent and road truck times are increasing. I'll curious when the new tables come out projecting downtime and mileage. Its not just Yukon though now, Castleton Pipeyard is load with at least 1 rts, 10 orion, and 4 mci's awaiting major service/repair

Some better news:  1171 is alive and well.  I saw and photographed it this morning on the Q60.  Also, not 1 hybrid was spotted while I was on Queens Blvd asides on the Q59.  GOOD!

That would make at least eight hybrids at ENY.  6790-6791, 6800, 6802-6805 and 6811.

6737-6739 FP to MCH

6366, 6367 and 6370 MCH to MV

9046 MV to ENY

I know you said early Febraury, but is their a chance, in light of all the major changes and deliveries in the last 10 days we could get at least and abridged update to the roster, at lesat of the major Hybrid changes?

ZeregaDisp, as you well know, as new deliveries come in, older buses get reassigned.  This happens EVERY single day.  The Roster is only a snapshot of the fleet at the time of its publication.  Ray does a great job in keeping us all up to date (myself included) on what's shaking.  I expect to have next month's roster uploaded by the 1st.  By then, ENY should have received their first 25 HEV's, and we should be getting ready for the switch back to MTA Bus and LGA Depot.  We should also know which RTS's are headed out of ENY (my guess is the '99 Novas).

Unitl, the February Roster comes out hang in there and watch for Ray's updates.

I guess ENY will get rid of its 1990 RTS and send some of its 1999 RTS to Flatbush.  Flatbush will get rid of its 1990 RTS.  I thought I heard that Flatbush was supposed to get some Orion VII Undecided.  I hope Flatbush dont get them, but I dont make decisions.  Keep us updated, Mark, Ray, and Zerega.......

Hey 6813, is going back to Oriskany already it failed pre-inspection due to floor board damage and major electrical system failure (burning smell so significant it was moved out of area and brough to the Home Depot parking lot accross the street for pick-up by flatbed  just in case of a fire or something. In addition to a side note going back to QV HEV'S, maybe BK can give us an update of the OOS Hybrids I think the # is growing.

Here's a head scratcher: 8252 is currently at LGA Depot. Huh
It's sitting next to 7102 which says "crap" in the front window. Lips Sealed  The rear bumper was removed for whatever reason.
8252 still says New York City Bus and it has Jamaica Depot decals on it.   Huh Undecided

8671-8703 are most likely headed out of ENY Depot-perhaps Flatbush?  MJQ?   Storage?
We shall see soon enough.

8671-8703 are my favorite buses out of ENY.  I hope that they do not go to storage.

Not to think Im crazy, but isnt ENY moving buses to MV as 9035 is at MV running on the M11 last night. I believe some 9000's are being swapped but then again what has shown up at Jamaica recently since some 8000's have been posted as leaving to MTA bus or Nimco.
