Not too sure but it's been in the same spot for a few days now with it's front sign displaying CALL POLICE.

Has anyone seen 1112 or 1121 recently?  I'm THINKING that they may be goners too.

I stripped the door motor and door controller out of 1112 last week. 1121 was next to it, eventually they are going to RTS heaven. The buses that haven't moved in a while are are being cannibalized. Parts are getting harder and harder to find!!

Hopefully you guys will have parts for Hybrid buses. As in a few months those buses will dominate your fleet and the RTS parts won't be needed as much.

Add 8330 to the list.  That bus was sitting outside at SC with an out of serivce paper on the windshield and the farebox removed.
That's too bad 8330 was a fast bus, you would have enjoyed it.

Dude I couldn't believe it!  I wonder why that bus was retired?  I seen the new Metro Card bus and it looks tacky!

But is it possible it was sitting OOS because the farebox it is scheduled to get is coming off one of the GMCs?

1156 is now done, it's sitting at JFK without a farebox. Only a matter of time before the GMCs are gone. By the way on the roster it lists a bunch of GMCs for JFK but the only other gmc I see besides 1156 is 8582 and I saw that bus today so I'm wondering if those buses are still in service at JFK. Everytime I swung by those on the list don't appear to be at JFK.

A few days ago I spotted one of the GBL livery GMC's running on the Q8, was #42xx, couldn't get the last few digits.  But, they seem to be still running in service of late, but perhaps not for long...

I think it's safe to say that all of the GMCs are removed from service at JFK.  I haven't seen one on a JFK route in quite some time.  Not sure about Far Rock.

I shot 4227 this week on a Far Rockaway route. However, there might be 2 or 3 buses remaining at JFK that are GMCs.

322 has been OOS (possibly at nimco)for a long while...

I also agree that 8582 should be saved. Its a very interesting bus.

Yea, but its engine is shot. It doesn't have the same good sound like the other 6V-92TA buses. Also, can anybody inform me on its uniqueness besides its renumeration (609 to 648 under GBL, and 8582 instead of 55xx under MTA Bus) and the fact that it has interior lights which are inside the advertising racks unlike other GMC RTSs? Other than those three features (including a sickly-sounding engine with a rattling sound at pickup which isn't necessarily better), what is so special about it?

 I rode 4243 on the Q-35 and I also rode 5839 on the Q-22....then I saw an ex-jam GMC's and an other ex-GBL GMC's running on the Q-35.

#8582 was on the Q60 today, spotted it heading westbound on Queens Blvd late this afternoon.  Still had JFK depot stickers on it.

Also, please remove ex-TCC GMC RTS-04 #7093 off of the list, I spotted that bus tonight running on the Q18.

Finally, might not mean much (probably isn't), but the farebox on #1120 wasn't working today on the Q18.  I asked the driver and he said the depot told him they disconnected it for some reason and to run without it.  Does that mean that #1120 is next to be scrapped?  Possibly so, possibly not... Just something to mention.

It may mean that the farebox has a serious problem and the farebox guys may be gone for the day, or something.

Also add 1855 to the deceased list. Saw it on the scrap sheet myself.

Add 1120 and 7115 to the scrap list.  1120 has scrap written on the windshield along with its farebox and plates removed.  7115 has its license plates  and farebox removed.
7093 is sitting right next to 7115.  However, the plates are still on it and the farebox is still inside.  With the arrival of these golf carts, I will not be surprised if 7093 is removed from service.  Angry

I brought 1120 back from a road call on Thursday, it had a brake smell to it. The forman asked if I would look at it and then he stopped and said forget it, it was scrapped!!

I meant to copy the scrapped list in the office, but forgot. It has the most up to date scrappers.

Has 7069 been officially scrapped, however? (I was looking through the thread and didn't see any post indicating it.)

Also, remove 4227 from the list (as of last week anyway), I shot it at Nostrand Junction.

GMC RTS-04: 7050-7092

Usually when I do this, that covers GMC RTS-04 #7069. I did that in one shot. As for GMC RTS-04 #4227, I took that bus off. Thanks again for the update.

7869 certainly isnt in service. All classics have been retired. 7825 remains as a museum bus.

7414 still remains licensed, as a bus to be used for road tests only.

Is #9757 stored where the Cruisers are usually stored along 87th St.?  And it really seems like they're scraping it down to its skivvies.

Also, was #9757 involved in a front-end accident?  The third shot it seems as if the bus smacked into a yellow bumper pole with an indentation and yellow paint scrapes.

And I see you snapped the pics from your car, TCC Senior Man.  *song plays* "Secret Agent Man!"

Wow nice photos, I'm surprised they didn't take the engine door, lights or bumper out. Thanks for sharing.

The bus has been stripped down so far that it doesn't run anymore, so it has to be pushed and pulled onto lifts and such. The yellow paint comes from the fork lift, as well does the dents! Shocked

The bus is parked in what we call Varsity front. That runs along 23rd ave.

As long as this bus remains on the property I don't think that they're done stripping it yet. There's still plenty left on it that can be used elsewhere.

Very good observation Green_713. I've been meaning to take a picture of that bus in particular for a long time. Call it laziness for not walking to this part of the property. Today as I was going home # 9757 was staring me in the face and crying out to me Cry. I figured now is as a good a time as any to take these pictures, so I did.

Oh, along 23rd Ave, I see it now, just to the right of the Cruiser pull out/in gate.  As for the forklift, was it the same one used that was seen in your videos of one of the GMC buses being man handled onto a flatbed?  LOL!

Thanks for the info.

Add 321 and 323 to the retirement list.  Those two RTS's were driven to Eastchester today.  TMC RTS 8375 is no longer on the property I guess it went back to Baisley.  However we still have The GM RTS #1162 which was in service on the B103 today.

321 & 323 Retired, what a crime.  The last two original 96" Command Buses and only 22 years old.  First the classics and now this. What are they going to do when those new junk boxes start breaking down and they have no spares ?  Some of the Orion v`s need to be  overhauled like 742 what a dog, can not move on the expressway or 717 another garbage can, please bring back the classics, we need them bad.

Not sure if we will be adding 9785 to the scrap list as TCC Senior Man reported on another post that the bus was involved in an accident early yesterday morning.

It's too early right now... Until the accident report and other issues clear. You will likely see the same fate as 9757.
