The seats are still not reclinable. However, otherwise, they are clones of 2825-2924 (except for the signs).

I'm not saying this bus is being repainted but ex-Green Bus Lines 10001 was being stripped of it's green and the Green Lines logo today at JFK depot. Anybody know what's going on? Maybe they are just going to repaint it with the Green Lines color.

I believe thats the case, believe me that bus was dirty (paint job wise) so hopefully the bus will look nice and clean. Hey maybe they are prepping it for MTA Bus Roadeo or Bus Fest. Thanks for telling us. I wonder if the interior will receive some treatment, I hope they keep the interior ad about using the back door, that was classic GB.

Oh no no thats fine, thanks for the picture, I haven't seen that bus for years, hopefully they can put 10001 like that. However if painted like that, would it have the two stripes or just one green stripe?

Today I saw bus 5938 repainted on the Q 7, everyone already knows that this is one of only two Orion V Diesel buses in JFK with black trim. The bus was completely repainted with no black trim remaining.  Also, the shiny or at least up to recently dirty aluminum wheels were also repainted white with I believe a little blue. There is no rear strip and paint job looks as though it was done recently (it looks good though but it would have been nice to see the black trim with shiny wheels). Oh also I couldn't see if it received full LED treatments being that the bus was speeding to turn. I hope this helps. Thanks

They probably replaced the wheelhubs; they likely didn't repaint them.

I saw 5938 as well and I can tell you that it doesn't have the MTA logo on the front of the bus yet, or MTA Bus on the sides and the sign is still broken.

However, the blue stripe is the extent of the repaint. White paper covers the red on the front.

Perhaps the list should include a separate listing of partial repaints.  I know it's not the whole bus, but repainted fronts should be recorded.

I have a pic of 9704 in blue.  However, I can't post it as PROFF.  If 9789 is in blue, where was it last seen at?  I last saw it at CP and it was still in orange.  I got to see it to believe it-IMO.
Does anyone have a pic of 9729 in blue?

Ray, as far as I know, any former Liberty Lines Express bus that is wrapped is NOT repainted. This includes 7824, 7850, 7867, 7883, 7893, and 7900. (These buses are repainted for only about 3 square feet on the front.)

Repainted Classics either have tiny numbers below the blue stripe, or numbers misplaced (like 7344). Big numbers mean the bus is NOT repainted (as my picture of 7824 earlier in this thread demonstrates).

I noticed that they haven't really painted a lot more RTS's. Shouldn't they start repainting the JFK and LGA units, they do need a lot of work. Also, the BP units should be repainted also.

I thought I heard a rumor that Ex GBL RTS 1182 now MTA Bus 5937 was repainted. I guess it wasnt repainted. I agree the Ex GBL and Ex TCC RTSs need a repaint very soon.

I agree, MTA Bus should order a sufficient amount to get all of the non LED buses and put them on, that way people can see what route it is without struggling to see a paper sign or a very dim sign. I would like to see JFK,BP, and LGA get new signs for all of their buses, it would look great.

To me that doesn't really make sense being that they are relatively young compared to the other buses. Also, I would think a number of them are in good running condition, all they need is some tlc. I agree they need work but they shouldn't get rid of them so fast if thats the case. I would understand the re powers going but not the ex pbl TMC's.

My guess is that MTA Bus went to town painting the ex-QSC TMC's because they didn't have anything more pressing to work on at the time.  Now that they've taken over the other PBL's, they're probably keeping busy with the ex-Green, Triboro and Command buses which need more attention and not worrying about the remaining orange TMC's.

Yeah I believe there are only two left, but if they want a good appearance they should really start repainting the JFK and LGA units.
