For example, the MTA Bus logo is missing from the right front side just past the front door. It appears that they have one on the right side in the blue stripe over the rear wheel.

I checked my photo of NYCT 6401 and the NYCT O7 GIF. If a logo was placed in that location, it would be covered up by the ad.

Why is the quality control sticker on it, are they going to use it soon?

According to Jamaica608:

It will be in service Monday morning on the Q112.  Three more may arrive by Monday.

Thanks for the pic and also what hybrid is right behind it?

My guess is that the Hybrid behind it is one of 2 Hybrids that Baisley Park has had at their Depot for several weeks now for training purposes only. LaGuardia Depot is scheduled to get the 2 Hybrids very soon.

It would be cool if we could have seen the new logo on the new bus but I guess they need more time to probably iron out the kinks, I would like to see the logo soon (they should put it on the depot like how NYCTA does it). The QC sticker gives the logo a pretty nice look.

The Quality Control Bus Sticker is used as a placeholder and container for a given depot logo. Here, you see a blank (QCB sticker without a containing depot logo) on an RTS, but they are affixed to most, if not all MTA NYC buses. Whenever MTA Bus decides to install their respective depot logos to their fleets, they will be placed inside this sticker.

6647 is the bus behind 3503.  6655 was not at the garage on Friday.

For example, the MTA Bus logo is missing from the right front side just past the front door.

For Orion VIIs, the "MTA New York City Bus" logo (or in this case, the MTA Bus logo) is placed right behind the rear door, above the rear wheel on the right side.  This is done because of the lack of space to affix the location in its usual location.

Bus # 6655 has been at LaGuardia Depot since Friday I believe. They started with the shop guys in regards to Training on this bus today. No word yet as to when the Training for the drivers will begin.

Thank you very much Mr. Brian for that bit of information. I see these Hybrids on my route every day and never took notice of that.

Jamaica Center is served by all of the BP local routes. I stayed there for over an hour. I walked from Parsons & Hillside to Brewer & Liberty, then went back to Parsons & Jamaica. Nothing. Nothing but hand-me-downs on all BP local routes.

I went there also and saw the same thing. I asked a dispatcher at Rockaway and he said he didn't know much about it but all that he knew was that it was coming soon.

I wouldn't exclude any of Baisley Park's routes. Just because it's assigned to one particular route one day, doesn't necessarily mean it will remain there indefinitely. It could be on ANY of BP's routes, the 110, 111, 112 or the 113. I wouldn't place all stock in the Q112. Instead, I'd find a spot where they all converge and set up camp right there and wait.

Isn't it always the case? You either just miss it, or leave just before it arrives. Murphy's Law :-)

Of course, it also depends upon the time you were there. The bus may not have pulled out of the depot yet, or may have been running onto, or off of a given route. Truthfully, one hour isn't long enough when you don't have any information other than a depot. In my opinion, had you stayed there another hour (if it's worth the time to you, that is), you most likely would have seen it.

Sorry, I never get mail anymore, since I got my 125lb. Shepherd\Dobie\Rottie Mix dog. The mailman is afraid I think (j\k). I don`t like to carry my camera with me at work. I make deliveries for the company I work for, and I don`t need somebody breaking in and taking it.

Anyway, it looks just like all the Orion VII`s out there. I like the destination sign, so much easier to read. I`m just glad for the drivers at Baisley. There the first brand new local busses they`ve been able to drive there in 12 years. I hope our buddy Jamaica608 gets to drive a new one soon.

Saw 1176 on the Q9A today. Bus looked terrible. Roll sign is still in place. Front number is black-very flithy looking. I see this a lot on the JFK buses. WTF is going on with them?
More JFK News: Sighted 5992 there. All Classics but 5883 and 5887 were inside the Depot along with 1837 1839 and 1841. Also saw 102 with a Q60 sign on it.
BP: 1190 is STILL at BP. Sighted it inside there today. Whoever said it's at JFK-they're wrong.
As far as the Uglion 7 hunt, I came up empty. However, I did not check the Q110 due to time constraints.
SC: Spotted 5898 on 1 of the lifts. Also, 318 319 and 322 are parked in the rear of the depot. All seem to be in tact.
Varsity: Spotted Ex-Commands 351 and 354 along with GBL 1012 and JBL 3001.

I am on vacation this week but I can assure you 1178 and 1190 are headed to JFK.  If you saw 1190 inside BP then it was most likely being worked on prior to us sending it over to JFK.  As far as the Orion VIIs are concerned at Baisley they will only be used on the Q110 and Q112 until construction on Guy R Brewer near Farmers Blvd. is completed.

MTA Bus Orion VII #3503 was running on the Q110 Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. Best place to be is most likely Jamaica Center.

I agree. Your best bet would be on either Parsons or 153rd Street between Jamaica Avenue and 88th Avenue. All BP local routes run on those stretches.

I have an update for you on 1190, it's at LaGuardia Depot since at least last night. I don't think that it went out today on any runs because when I first saw it at about 4:00 AM, it was at the front doors. By 4:30 AM, it was in the shop being backed up above one of the pits. When I returned back after my run today, it was still inside the shop but parked by the Bus Wash. I'm not sure if we're keeping it or if we're just servicing it.

Also spotted what I think was 1189 on the Q-11 today at Woodhaven and Queens Blvd.

Well, #1190 must've just been moved during the night, cause I took pics of it at Baisely Park just yesterday while it was sitting behind the depot at little past 5PM.  Also, saw at least two ex-QSC RTS's (#9794 & #9739 for training).  And, surprisingly what seems to be an ex-NYCT RTS from Yukon!  And alas, some half-ass shots of the new hybrids at the depot with what seemed like maintenance workers checking it out along with Orion people and NYCT, too.  Also, saw #3500 inside the depot on the inspection pit and NYCT #6635 sitting behind MTAB #3503.

And, while finishing up my pic taking at Baisely, one of the maintenance workers yelled out to me at the front of the depot (near the washing station it seemed like) "No pictures!".  I was at the gas station near the phone when he said it, was in the clear.  But, I decided not to make anything out of it, so crossed the street and continued taking pics.  He saw me, but didn't say anything.

Oh yeah, I saw ex-GBL #5510 being prepped for painting it seems at JFK Depot.

Check out the new pics here, loads more to be uploaded, but need time to straighten some stuff out, pics and other stuff outside of that, please be patient (it'll be worth it):

I had a chance to ride 3506 on the Q113 early this morning on my way to the airport and it still had that new bus smell, it was pretty nice. The interior seems the same as the NYCT ones.

With Baisley Park routes, it's super easy - just go to Jamaica Center.  Once you know the route(s) the hybrid(s) are running on, you can then pick your spots.

Of course, in another month or two, the hybrids will be out there all the time - you won't go five minutes without seeing one.

I saw 3503 on the 112 and I must say that is one nice bus (it looks great, no ads yet and I was happy to see Ozone Park on the route sign), I wish I had my camera but I just came from the barber. Sorry everyone. I'll try tomorrow. For some reason they took off the QC sticker which doesn't make sense. Also I hear BP will receive 75 buses with about 10-15 re powers left. Thanks

Not sure if this is true but I saw 3500 with the windows opened and the bus driver was feelin to see if there was air coming through the vents so I'm assuming the A/C isn't working on that bus.

The hybrids almost ready to be mass produced at this point. This certainly won't help with the crowds the Q111 gets in particular but new equipment was needed for some time.

Yeah, I spotted #3503 on the Q112 early this afternoon heading towards Jamaica.  I would've gotten on it, but!  I had just gotten onto the Q37 towards Kew Gardens and were pulling away as the Q112 went through the light.  But, the front and side destinations signs are huge!  You could "Q112" a mile away!

So Baisley Park has #3500-3506? Oh boy, let the good times roll!!!

Probably more like 3500, 3503, and 3506.   It was mentioned elsewhere (not on this forum) that Orion doesn't always deliver its buses consecutively.  I guess we should wait until we get a confirmation from those at Baisley Park.

Yeah, when I went by BPD a few days ago, I only saw three Orion VII's there, MTAB units #3500 and #3503 and NYCT unit #6635.  #3506 might have shown up after I was there or was out of the depot on the lines (doubt it, didn't see them on the local lines whatsoever, and I saw just about every bus that was running at that time) or was buried in the depot outside of my camera shot.

I spotted 3504 on the south bound Deagan yesterday afternoon so I guess its safe to assume 3504 made it to Baisley Friday afternoon.

I go on vacation for a week and when I go back to work there will already be approximately ten new buses at the garage.
